SCNN extends its services to Western Region of Uganda.

Stephen Asiimwe, SCNN programme coordinator in conjunction with Tooro Child Care Centre and Tooro Kingdom Education Programme, has established a regional office which will coordinate SCNN activities in Western Region of Uganda. This has been possible with the support of Mr. Robert Asiimwe the programme director of Tooro Child Care Centre. SCNN offices are located within Tooro Babies Home administration Block. Tooro Babies Home is on Kabarole Hill, Kyebambe Road on Fort-Portal - Kasese High Way.

Focus programme areas include:

  1. Advocacy on juvenile Justice and paralegal services in target communities within western region as well as supporting children in remand homes with psychosocial services, skills training, education and preparing them for effective reintegration into their communities after their sentences/rehabilitation. This will be a joint effort with remand homes management and other stakeholders.
  2. Reproductive health services and HIV/AIDS among vulnerable children and Youth in the region.
  3. Skills training for vulnerable children and youth as a preventative measure for them to take off to the streets or engaging in child Labour.
